I've had home cooked Moroccan food before so I had decent expectations. The food here was really good. I ordered the couscous with chicken and vegetables and I would have been happy just eating the couscous. Everything was delicious. Glad I found this place just in time for Ramadan :) Thank you!

LOVED everything about this place! We walked in and the owner immediately sat us down to listen to our order. He put together a tasting platter without us even asking and took care of everything we needed. The food was phenomenal (some of the best I’ve had in Davis) and the service was top tier. I wish I had pictures of the food they prepared for us, but it was gone as soon as we got home. New favorite spot!

When we ordered a takeout dinner from this new restaurant tonight we didn't expect much. Boy, were we surprised. My wife ordered grape leaves and shawarma on pita. The grape leaves, which I shared, were excellent, particularly because the leaves were the most tender leaves we've had outside upscale restaurants in Greece. Casablanca serves one kind of grape leaves at the moment, but we both hope they will consider other fillings. She pronounced the shawarma as among the best she's ever had. I ordered the lamb couscous, and when I saw it I was a little dismayed because it closely resembled the couscous we used to eat in Paris back in our impecunious days, a half century ago. Couscous in Moroccan restaurants in Paris were renowned 50 years ago for being cheap, filling, huge, but mediocre food at best. The resemblance between couscous from Casablanca and Paris ended with appearance; the food was excellent. The couscous were nothing like the slop they used to serve in Paris, stuck together masses of sticky grain. These were cooked perfectly, free flowing and flavored expertly. The lamb was slow cooked, tender, and succulent. The vegetables were delicious. My only comment is this dish is enormous. Unless you're very hungry I'd consider sharing it. We already know we'll be regulars at this place. Welcome to Davis. Since I reviewed Casablanca we've been back twice. Both times (and both were in opening hours, around 6:00 PM) the place has been locked up tight, lights off. The website said they were open, the sign in the window said "open", but they weren't. Please post your hours accurately. I'd like to try your food again, but not if you're this unreliable.

Ordered food for twenty for my daughter’s graduation party. The food was very good, the amount of food was generous and I received many compliments from a “foodie” crowd. Lots of leftovers which were quite good the next day. Very pleased with my choice. Strongly recommend.

We were in Davis, and looking for a great restaurant – we found one in Casablanca! The food was exceptional as well as the service. We did a sampling of many items on the menu, including the kefta platter, baba ghanouj, hummus, grape leaves, tabouli, and falafel. We also tried the garlic dip. Every single item was exceptional. The portions were ample, and the food was ready super quickly. We will definitely come back again when we visit Davis, California. Portions.

The falafels were crispy and flavorful, and the hummus was smooth and creamy. But the real star of the show was the tabouli salad - it was fresh, healthy, and bursting with flavor. What really sets Casablanca apart, though, is the incredible customer service. Moutib, one of the owners, went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in making sure I enjoyed my meal. Overall, I can't recommend Casablanca enough.
